Fitness: My Home Workout


Today was a 3.98km run/walk/workout around Lake Monger.

When I say run/walk it's because I can't run the whole distance - yet!

When I say it's a run/walk/workout it's because there are workout stations positioned alongside of the path where you can stop and work your arms, legs and abs.

There will eventually be iPhone and Android apps so you can track your goals as you are working out (calico.com.au). Until then I am using RunKeeper to track time, distance and calories burned.

The Ninety-Nine Workout Challenge

I've never been someone that likes to exercise but after having my first baby in May I have realised that I am not as fit as I want to be and I really want to be bikini body ready for the summer. So I searched through pinterest for a workout challenge that I had seen posted a few months back.

I don't do it all in one hit. That would just be stupid because, like I said, I never exercise! I am working my way through the workout starting at 99 and seeing how much I can do and then stop and run to cool down. Then I will start the next day where I left off the day before etc...

Saturday - 99 jumping jacks to 77 jumping jacks
Monday - 77 jumping jacks to 55 jumping jacks
Tuesday - 55 jumping jacks to ...

I'm doing it this way so I feel like I am achieving something by actually finishing the whole workout, even if it does take a few days in the beginning.

I want to eventually be able to do the whole workout in one session.
