Eye Shape Tutorial

Hello Voguette's!

This isn't a tutorial as such because I more want to bring everyone's attention to the fact that everyone has different shaped eyes and will therefore be needing to apply their eyeshadow differently. The reason for my highlighting this point is because before I attended beauty school I would follow beauty blogs and try to copy their eye make-up and sometimes it just wouldn't look the same because they were applying shadow to suit their eye shape, not mine.

So, I tracked down a rather informative image from the internet and I would like to share it with you. I hope it helps anyone having trouble applying their eyeshadow!

Beauty Tip Three: Take Your Own Nail Polish (and Chi Chi Mile High Club Review)

I went to Looks Devine Medi Spa in Perth today and as part of my pamper package I received a manicure and a pedicure. They asked me to choose a nail polish colour from their selection however there were none that I liked.

Luckily, I already thought about what colour I wanted on my nails and took my own nail polish with me. By taking my own nail polish with me to the salon I get the colour I want on my nails and if I need to do any touch ups on the tips of my nails later during the week I can.

I LOVE the result of my manicure and this Chi Chi colour!!

Beauty Tip Two: Don't Forget to Exfoliate Your Feet!

When I was little I remember seeing my mums dry chapped heels and I vowed never to let mine get that way. To be sure that they don't get that way I keep a foot file in the shower and every time I shower I give my heels a bit of a going over. By doing this I remember to exfoliate my feet and rid my heels of any chance of being chapped!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

I just found out that Batiste Dry Shampoo is an InStyle (UK) best beauty buy for 2011 and I am not surprised. I have been using the original Batiste Dry Shampoo for years and I love it!
When I first heard about dry shampoo I went on a hunt for an inexpensive brand just to see what all the fuss was about and Batiste happened to be that brand. Most Dry Shampoos were over $20 so I was glad to find Batiste which only set me back $8.95 for 150ml.
Batiste Dry Shampoo does for my hair what other dry shampoos have failed to do (they didn’t give the same lasting effect), which was a shame because they were more expensive! I get oily roots after 2 days without washing my hair but when I use Batiste Dry Shampoo I can go 5 days before I need to wash my hair again; and it gives my hair body which is a bonus because I have naturally flat hair.
One of my beauty tricks is if I am going out I will spray Batiste Dry Shampoo into my hair before I style it to give it a bit more bounce and make it more manageable to style (especially if I have washed my hair that same day).
It was also an Australian Beauty Award winner in 2010, but it’s always been a winner with me!

The Benefits of a Silk Eye Mask (Alternative to Silk Pillow Slips)

I've read about the benefits of sleeping on silk pillow slips, but what about the benefits of a silk eye mask!?

I have slept on silk pillow slips before and I didn't like that the pillows would slip out from underneath my head whilst I was sleeping. So, how do I get the same benefits of a silk pillow slip without actually sleeping on one? By using a silk eye mask!

Since I don't get a comfortable sleep with silk pillow slips a silk eye mask is a better alternative for me. I want to make sure that my eyes get the benefit of an eye cream without the cotton pillow slips absorbing the moisture away from them.

Furthermore, a silk eye mask reduces wrinkles around the eyes as "silk has a natural affinity with human skin".

I'm excited to get my silk eye mask from Simply Silk. They offer free shipping which, as a consumer, I love!

Designer Brands: Beyond Amplifying Mascara

I was looking at buying this mascara for a few days but I was unsure if I would like it and the reason for this was that I had never tried anything from this brand before. Eventually, I decided I would give it a go and I was fortunate enough to receive it as a gift from a Designer Brands representative.

Upon application it lengthened my lashes and made them look 'fatter'. This was great because this is what I look for in a mascara. There was no clumping, it didn't flake and even though my lashes were 'amplified' there was no heavy feeling.

The brush is nice and thin so it was easy to coat the whole length of my lashes where I tend to miss with mascaras with wider brushes.

The only thing I didn't like was that my lashes stay wet for a while...I'd say about 2 minutes. So I had to to be careful I didn't get it on my eyelids. But I can handle this because I like the effect this mascara has on my lashes.

When I removed the mascara after work it literally came off in tubes...no panda eyes! I used eye make-up remover but just warm water can be used which I am going to try tonight.

Edit: It washed off really good with just using the warm water.

Beauty Tip One: Moisturise Knees and Elbows with Excess Face Cream

When applying face cream, if you have any excess on your hands apply it to your elbows and knees. These areas are usually neglected when it comes to body care and can become rough and dry.
